Fresh off the critically acclaimed documentary, Muscles and Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators, we are joined by Ice herself, Lori Fetrick.  Not only do we discuss fat gladiators, Lori gave us a great interview where we dive into all thing Gladiators, life after the show, her thoughts on the documentary, and what Lori is up to these days.  Make sure to check out the documentary, and Lori's podcast, Chilin' With Ice.

#459- The 2023 Christmas Spectacular with Dr. Elmo

Merry Christmas everybody!  We are back with our most anticipated yearly episode, the 2023 Christmas Spectacular!  So, grab some cocoa, light the fire place, and gather around for what might be our most festive episode yet.  First, Mike must play a grueling game that takes him through a multiverse of Christmas events.  Will he ruin Christmas forever?  Later, we are joined by the creator of "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer", Elmo Shropshire, or better known as Dr. Elmo.  We talk about his amazingly unique life, from vet, to exercising a Kentucky Derby winner, to becoming a music sensation, to a national record setting runner.  Dr. Elmo was kind, funny, and extremely interesting.  Go see Dr. Elmo live at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank on December 19th!

We’re heading back to our second home as Verbal Shenanigans returns to Georgetown, Colorado. Steve Skalski is the founder of Guanella Pass Brewery and was not only gracious enough to give us time, but also send us some of their Bernese Mountain Brown Ale, made in honor of Mayor Parker the Snow Dog. Hear the story of how Steve met mayor Parker, learn more about the area and their brewery, and why burrows come by every year.

#444-Dr. Rebecca L George

If you watched Bones or CSI, you may have heard the term “Body Farm”…tonight we are farming. To be technical the proper term is Decomposition Facility as our guest Rebecca L George, PhD explained to us. She is the Assistant Director of Forensic Anthropology Facilities and Instructor of Anthropology for the facility at Western Carolina University. We learn her path to here, the process to volunteer bodies, and the environment where they study. Learning and laughing with this great interview.

The third time is a charm this week on Verbal Shenanigans.  We are joined for the third time by one of our favorite returning guests, Jonathan Antoine.  Joanthan is of course, an amazing and talented opera singer, but he is an even better person.  We discuss Jonathan's current endeavors, his loyal fans, his new creative outlet, his fitness journey, and the music industry in 2023.  Finally, we put Mike and Jonathan into comepetition with one another as they play a game called, "Hit the High Note".

Lead singer Peter Summit talks to us about the forming of the band right as Covid hits, the eclectic sound of the rock band, and the love of making music.
