#444-Dr. Rebecca L George

If you watched Bones or CSI, you may have heard the term “Body Farm”…tonight we are farming. To be technical the proper term is Decomposition Facility as our guest Rebecca L George, PhD explained to us. She is the Assistant Director of Forensic Anthropology Facilities and Instructor of Anthropology for the facility at Western Carolina University. We learn her path to here, the process to volunteer bodies, and the environment where they study. Learning and laughing with this great interview.

#443-Jonathan Antoine 3.0

The third time is a charm this week on Verbal Shenanigans.  We are joined for the third time by one of our favorite returning guests, Jonathan Antoine.  Joanthan is of course, an amazing and talented opera singer, but he is an even better person.  We discuss Jonathan's current endeavors, his loyal fans, his new creative outlet, his fitness journey, and the music industry in 2023.  Finally, we put Mike and Jonathan into comepetition with one another as they play a game called, "Hit the High Note".

Before their first album’s release party, Crashing Wayward comes to Verbal Shenanigans. Lead singer Peter Summit talks to us about the forming of the band right as Covid hits, the eclectic sound of the rock band, and the love of making music. Today, we are joined by one of the hottest comedic acts in the country, Morgan Jay.  Morgan has been blowing up on TikTok and Instagram, has been seen on MTV's Wild'n' Out, NBC, and Comedy Central.  We discussed all things comedy from bombing, to developing an act, to figuring out how to market yourself.  Morgan's new special, appropriately titled "Full Special", is out now on Youtube.  Hear all about the making of the special, what went into it, and the future of Morgan here!

Clean lines, bold color, amazing composition, and badass tattooing.  Our guest tonight is a master of all above.  Whether you've seen him on the Inkmaster finale, or you've had the pleasure of getting work done by him at his shop, Folklore Trading Co in Dallas, Texas, Tiffer Wright is as genuine as they come.  We discuss just about everything with Tiffer as we cover his humble beginnings and unique "apprenticeship", the pros and cons of Inkmaster, life in motocross, and what's next in his career.  Tiffer is a very down to earth, funny, and open artist, and a great guy to chat with for a few minutes.  Make sure to check out Tiffer and his work on instagram, @tifferwright

Great guest, weird conversations….par for course on this show. This week we are joined by former Sportscenter anchor and current play by play commentator Whit Watson. We had an amazing conversation hearing about his rise from intern to radio in Orlando on his way to ESPN. We go over learning along the way, his viral note taking before events, and golfers being human and cursing their brains out. Art comes to life on the podcast this week. Award winning motion graphics artist Jonathan Winbush comes on the show to discuss his career. We learn how Happy Madison studios gave him his start in his career, working on Marvel movies, sneaking things into movies, and then we chat about the best fighter game characters. We loved hearing the arc of his career and had some laughs as well.

If you've watched football, you may have seen our guest on his brother's shoulders whipping a crowd of 80,000 people into a frenzy.  You may have seen him waving a fireman's hat around in the air.  And you have most certainly seen or heard him screaming the letters,  J-E-T-S.   Today, we are joined by longtime Jets fan, Ed Anzalone, aka, Fireman Ed.  We talk all things Jets football, the origin story of Fireman Ed, the criticism he's taken, and what Ed expects this season.  Have a listen!

#436-Jordan Hatmaker

This week, we can not figure out what is more amazing….our guest’s survival, or how much she can smile and laugh about what happened. In November 2021, Jordan Hatmaker jumped from an airplane over 13,000 feet in the air, had her parachute get entangled with her leg, hit the ground at 80 MPH, and after all that, she is on our show smiling and laughing telling us the story. We chat about the emotions of the situation, the recovery, and how she even got a date from a photo in her hospital bed.
 
In a typical Verbal Shenanigans fassion,  we discuss being hungover at a bounce house party, Monster Jam, Siamese twins getting married, and play a game of "Only in Florida."  Have a listen!

As 2024 elections are creeping up, you can count on Verbal Shenanigans to be your source for political news. Today we venture to Georgetown, Colorado to speak with one of the most beloved mayors in the country….Parker the Snow Dog. We talk with Parker’s “aid” Dustin Schaefer to discuss how a dog becomes mayor, the events Parker attends as an ambassador and travels of being a “good boy” mayor.
